Man Hospitalized after Night Attack in Bridgwater

A middle-aged man sustained head injuries after being attacked by two men in Brightwater last night. He is currently recovering at home after he was discharged from the hospital.

The night incident occurred outside an off-licence in the town at 1:20 am.  According to CCTV footage obtained by the police, two men were captured attacking the victim until he fell down.

On falling, the victim sustained minor head injuries, which rendered him unconscious. The perpetrators immediately walked past the scene as headed towards the town centre.

Police have since released an image of one of the suspects. They have also appealed to the public to help identify the suspects so that they can locate and arrest them.

According to Avon and Somerset police spokesperson, the image is a snapshot of the CCTV footage video. The image was shared on social media so that it may be circulated easily.

The spokesperson said that a suspect is a white man with short light coloured hair. He is also assumed to be in his late twenties or early thirties.

The police also clarified that the man’s height is estimated to be five feet and nine inches. He was wearing a grey jumper with the word “Levis” written in red on the front side.

The spokesperson requested the public to report on the whereabouts of the suspect to aid in his arrest.

The crime rate in Bridgwater had reduced significantly when the country was put on lockdown. However, it is gradually increasing as some people have been rendered jobless, and therefore they are idle and depressed.

However, the police warned that the issue of joblessness does not warrant the people to engage in crime as it is unlawful. The spokesperson cautioned the public against engaging in crime because they will face the full force of the law.
