Tight Race in Taunton’s Junior Golf Tournament

For three golf players, Brandon Raymond, Ethan Johnson and Brandy Sullivan, Tuesday will remain a memorable day of their lives having won first-place trophies at the yearly Taunton Junior City golf tournament, which was held at John F. Parker Golf Course. The two day tournament was directed by Tom Clarke, Paul Champagne, Tom Bernier, Eric Davis, Al Leal and Larry Masterson.

On the second day of the tournament, Johnson scoped the Division 3 crown with a general mark of 152. He won over his runner-up Aiden Ryan with 9 strokes. In the 3rd place was Harrison Taraian finishing with 168. Other golfers in this division were London Begin, Dillan Walsh, Spencer Andrews and Ben Horowitz who scored 169, 174,184 and 210 respectively.

Brandon won the Division 2 title with a mark of 155. He won against his runner up (Matt Costello) with 4 strokes who finished with 159. In the third position was Peter Torres with a score of 161. Othe scores in this Division 2 were Begin with 163, Logan with 165 and Mason Tessier with 186.

In Division 1 Brady Sullivan took the first position with a general mark of 95 in the tournament against TJ Ward who scored 126.

The year’s tournaments were sponsored by Lea Golf, Inc under its president Gil Alegi. This is another round that they are sponsoring the tournament and their contribution is greatly appreciated. In the order of appreciation is also John F. Parker Golf Course staff for the hospitality they showed to the junior golfers. The tournament was a success and we are looking forward to the next year’s tournament which we believe will also a success. We also call upon all the interested golfers to be ready for the game. The venue of the next year’s tournament will be communicated.
