Housing development firm Lovell Southern, part of the Morgan Sindall Group, continues its southward expansion with the appointment of an experienced regional managing director to spearhead the process.
The company, a partnership housing division of Morgan Sindall Group, appointed Andrew Johnston as the new regional managing director of the southern offices of Lovell.
To be based in Exeter, Johnston was the former managing director of Galliford Try Partnerships for more than four years before moving to Lovell and oversee its growth in the area. Having excellent expertise in housing-led regeneration, Lovell aims to continue its growth as a sustainable business with good working ethos, taking advantage of the high demand for affordable housing. The company plans to hire around 100 people directly and another thousand more through the supply chain. Securing land will be of priority in order to erect future properties and increase the supply of housing.
Aside from his experience in Galliford, Andrew Johnston also held directorial positions with Midas Group, a highly-respected privately company in the UK with involvement in construction, property and energy.
According to Andrew, the time at Lovell “[is] an exciting time[.] The company has a great delivery model with ambitions to grow the business and its investment in the southern region demonstrates commitment to that strategy as well as to the wider affordable housing sector.”
Lovell Southern, after becoming part of Morgan Sindall Group, has a strong financial position as observed by Andrew. He added that this will be an advantage to effectively engage with business partners in order to fulfill the company’s goal of increasing the supply of much-needed homes in their target areas.
In a statement released by Andrew, the three business objectives are as follows: “build much needed new private and affordable homes, invest in the communities in which we are working and employ local businesses further re-investing in the region.” Because of its financial status, when word spread of their plans, Andrew stated that amazing opportunities have sprung up.
Praises by Lovell London and Southern Managing Director Stuart Gibbons focus on Andrew’s vast experience and commitment, along with his proven track record in business expansion and development, his passion in dealing with customers and ensuring the excellency of team outputs. “We are delighted to have him on board to drive our southern region,” he said.
