Baldwins, a sought-after business advisory firm, is taking initiatives to further cement its presence in the West Country after having acquired 2 more accountancy practices.
Kelsall Steele Chartered Accountants and Perrins Chartered Accountants are now a part of the Baldwins Group. Kelsall Steele has been in operation in Mid and West Cornwall for more than 70 years and Perrins has been an established player in North Devon since 1914. The two companies combined employ almost 60 people. The old staff of these firms will remain in office.
These two new acquisitions come after Potter Baker and Davisons who also joined Baldwins in the year 2017. Baldwin’s total office number in the West Country now amounts to six, headed by Matthew Gard, their Regional Managing Partner.
Baldwins Board Director Shaun Knight highlighted the significance of these two new acquisitions:
He said: “The acquisitions underline our commitment to the Devon and Cornwall business communities.
“Local relationships are key and both practices will benefit from the digital and technological innovations implemented within Baldwins, in order to meet the demands of the ever-changing regulatory and digital landscape, as well as client expectations.
“It will be business as usual for staff and clients at both offices, and we look forward to supporting the wider business communities in Devon and Cornwall.”
Kelsall Steele’s Managing Director Bernard Pooley will still be the head of the firm’s Truro office along with Malcolm Peters. Perrins Director Chris Birch will also remain as the head of the Barnstaple office together with Simon Osment.
Chris Birth expressed: “Joining forces with Baldwins takes our firm to the next level where we can expand our reach with their additional services, and in turn, expand our workforce.”
Today, Baldwins now holds over 90 offices all over the United Kingdom with more than 2,800 employees and a yearly turnover of around £200 million.
