Bristol Head Coach Plans for Contract Agreement

Lee Johnson, lead coach for Bristol city, said discussions are due to begin shortly with the club concerning the extension of his contract. His present contract is almost expiring at the next season finale although he said he does not anticipate leaving. The 37-year-old said the discussions got postponed the previous week, but he hopes they start momentarily. Johnson is happy at the club and doesn’t plan to quit. He said he has a common understanding with the chairman, Steve Lansdown, and he hopes to come in an agreement concerning his extended stay.

Johnson is Devoted to Remaining in City

Johnson noted that the previous week was busy for both him and Steve. He was in Portugal whereas Steve was in Guernsey. He believes meeting someone face to face is the best way to hold the contract talks. The coach led City to an eighth position in the finishing of the Championship in the current season.  He aims to be in Bristol City and fulfill their goal, which is to participate in the Premier League football.  The head coach wants a promotion, and he’s excited about the coming days. Johnson stated that City is in talks with Chelsea about an agreement to sign Tomas Kalas, Czech defender, who spent the season at Ashton Gate on loan.

City in Negotiations to Sign in Chelsea Player

The 26-year-old defender managed 38 Championship appearances.  According to Johnson, quite some clubs would like him due to his quality though he doesn’t come cheap. Lee is hopeful they will acquire him since they have a healthy relationship with Adam Webster.  He is also confident about agreeing with another 21-year-old Chelsea player, Jay Dasilva after he made 28 appearances for the City in this season’s Championship amid a loan spell. In the meantime, Niki Maenpaa’s, current goalkeeper, will have his contract preserved for the next season.
