A new website for children and adolescents of Dorset has been developed, mainly focusing on their mental health.
The website is called CAMHS, short for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. They offer multiple mental health services including assessment and treatment of young people who are 18 years old and below that are suffering mental difficulties.
Even as a newly established website, CAMHS has had more than 7,500 views in the first few weeks– a great number to start helping plenty more thousands of young people who are in need of their services. CAMHS is dedicated to helping those even with adverse mental health issues, such as:
- signifacant self-harm or risk-taking behaviors;
- depression and severe anxiety disorders;
- obsessive-compulsive disorders;
- complex or critical post-traumatic disorders;
- severe behavioural difficulties;
- serious emotional difficulties among children with Asperger’s Syndrome or Autism; and
Their website is not only mobile-friendly but also very interactive and easy to read and navigate. We all are aware of the difficulty of opening up to others and meeting new people. It can be uncomfortable, but CAMHS has made it possible to make it the best decision one can make in their whole life. A decision to change for the betterment of all the young people.
Appointments with CAMHS can be set either by recommendation or self-set appointment. You can be a young person, a parent or carer, or even a professional who knows someone who might help.
