Atlantic league all-star infield and outfield player Mike Fransoso has resigned for the Somerset Patriots for the coming 2019 season.
This will be his second season playing for the Somerset Patriots and the second season in the Atlantic League. Fransoso managed 267 yards with 2 home runs and 24 stolen bases in 120 games of his first season for Somerset last year.
In the concluded 2018 season, Fransoso finished the league with some of the best rankings. He was seventh in walks (62), 13th on base percentage, and 10th in steals. He was first for the Patriots in triples and walks. His 393 at-bats and 61 runs ranked him second in the Patriot’s roster.
Fransoso had some of the best defensive quality, and his versatility played major contributions for the Patriots. He played in almost all infield and outfield positions except the right field and catcher position. This is probably the reason why the Patriots resigned him to keep his versatility in the team fold.
Brett Jodie, the Somerset Patriots manager, has so much praise for Fransoso. He said that Fransoso’s versatility is extremely valuable to the team, and his skills and talent in each position that he plays in separates him from the rest of the players. He is also a fighter who grinds as much as he can to help the team win at whatever cost. Brett Jodie was full of joy and pleasure after reacquiring the services of a top competitor who will be a big difference in their search for a title in the 2019 season.
The 28-year-old will be looking to join up with the Patriots for his first game when the Patriots kickstart their new season on Opening Day Friday 16th April. The Td Bank Ballpark will be hosting their first game of the season.
