The Falmouth Police arrested a 53- year old woman named Erica Gomes.
According to the police report, the woman in question was visibly intoxicated and threatened to cut the manager of the main street restaurant, Anejo- twice. After which, she attempted to leave by driving her car off onto the sidewalk. The same manager finally had enough and called the police on the evening of May 9.
The police responded, but by the time they arrived at the scene, the woman had fled. They then went to wait for her in the area surrounding her driveway. She showed up at around 10:30 in the evening and was finally confronted by the police.
The woman showed obvious signs of intoxication. The police who waited for her to get off her car noted that she was not walking properly and that her eyes were glassy. She also smelled intensely of liquor and was not properly answering the inquiries of the police officers. She was reportedly mumbling about something that had to do with “margaritas.”
When the police finally started to apprehend her, she tried to resist arrest by going into a fit of screaming and kicking. All of these attempts to escape punishment did not succeed, as the police eventually pepper-sprayed the woman because she would not listen to any of the officers and was finally transported to the police station to be booked.
The police also reported that the woman claimed that the staff at Anejo restaurant was harassing her because of her race, which has not yet been confirmed or denied by the management.
Erica Gomes is reportedly facing charges the following serious charges; drunk driving, marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, threatening to commit a crime (murder), disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.
