Summer may be over but so is Creative Culture South West’s short hiatus! An arts and culture enterprise based in Exeter, Southwest England, CCSW is back with an array of flavors tailored to your artistic taste. Ranging from music, literature, performance art, theater, and film, it provides avenues for adults and kids alike to either hone their crafts or merely indulge in the artistic experience.
With the goal of showcasing Exeter’s talents, regular events initially held on their first year such as Down to the Wire, Word Command, Stand Up & Shout, and Off the Cuff are still available for free for all songwriting, spoken word, open mic comedy, and open improv enthusiasts, respectively.
Beginning September, experience a range of theatrical shows and workshops inside the 50-seater art sanctuary at the Barnfield Theatre. Get enamored by the South Devon Players as they perform Macbeth, an award-winning tragedy by Shakespeare, and watch written literature come to life as you watch Rebecca, one of the famous works of world-renowned author and playwright, Daphne Du Maurier. For adults who want to experience storytelling on a whole new level, CCSW offers The Tell Tales. If you are more into scary stories, moreover, Hyde and Seek is the show to see.
For parents looking for shows to bring some thrill to their kids’ Halloween experience, Coppice Theatre Production brings you Tales from a Haunted Bookshop. In the spirit of giving back and helping each other, Above Bounds production also brings you their Christmas special, The Elves & the Shoemaker.
You will never run out of options with all the exciting choices prepared by Creative Culture South West from September to December.
