The school is a through education facility offering an alternative approach to education for children between the ages of 5 and 16 years old. They are looking for Leaning Support Assistants to start full time contracts in September, offering group and 1-2-1 support for their children with Special Needs.
As a Leaning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for helping the class teacher in delivering lessons, keeping the children engaged and focussed and maintaining regulation and behaviour within the classroom. Ideally, you will have 6 months or more experience working within a SEND setting and a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Child Development or similar. Experience of challenging behaviour is essential, and a willingness to get stuck in and be proactive will be highly favoured.
The needs of the students vary greatly, from attachment disorders and ADHD, to epilepsy and Moderate Learning Difficulties. Being adaptable and versatile with set you a field above the rest and having a willingness to integrate into the wider school and learn on the job will stand you in very good stead!
